In July we visited Donald's sister Anne and her husband Ralph at their cabin in upstate New York, on the edge of the Adirondacks.

The stars were very bright at night. We saw more loons than we've ever seen in Minnesota, even though the loon is Minnesota's state bird. We noticed that Ralph doesn't know the meaning of the word "day off". He maintained contact with his office more or less constantly. However, he took an hour off to take us jet-skiing and he grilled us a lovely meal on the patio. Anne took us to visit the stained glass works in a nearby town, toured us through her gardens and woodworking projects, and fed us royally.
