Donald's Aorta Emergency

Events took an unexpected turn on a Saturday evening in April, when Donald suddenly lost the use of his legs. An MRI revealed that the paralysis was caused by impaired blood flow due to an "aortic dissection" — a life-threatening emergency requiring immediate open-heart surgery. By the grace of God, with thanks to talented surgeon Dr. Boksberger and the wonderful staff at United Hospital, Donald was safely home a week later and has made a full recovery.
